Musicals
Lerner & Loewe: My Fair Lady
My favorite musical. Fabulously splendid music and witty lyrics!
LLoyd Webber & Xxxx: The Phantom of The Opera
My second favorite musical.
???? & ????: Les Miserables
My third favorite musical.
Movie classics
A plethora of information about all these movies can be found at the Internet Movie Database.
We The Living (1942)
The Italian "bootleg" version of Ayn Rand's first novel is a fabulous movie!
Love Letters (1945)
The original novel is lousy, but Ayn Rand's script turned it into wonderful movie — almost like discovering a "lost" Ayn Rand novel. Fine direction and set design — and Jeniffer Jones is stunning!
The Fountainhead (1949)
While flawed in many respects, once you get used to its flaws — and try not to think about the novel too much — this is still very enjoyable.
It's A Wonderful Life (1946)
While I am greatly opposed to the altruistic philosophy of this movie, as a work of art it never fails to move and fascinate me. Awesome script, direction, acting and production — surely one of the greatest movies ever made. (I have a love-hate relationship with Frank Capra.)
All About Eve (1950)
Not a pleasant group of people and not a pleasant view of life — but what a script and what performances! Admirable!
Only Angels Have Wings (1939)
What a pleasant group of people and what a pleasant view of life — and what a script and what performances! Loveable!
The Philiadelphia Story (1940)
What a sizzling script! And all three of my all-time favorite actors: Cary Grant, Jimmy Stewart — and the incomparable Katharine Hepburn. Wowable!
The Miracle Worker (1962)
Stunning script and performances, based on the story of Helen Keller and her teacher Anne Sullivan.
Casablanca (1942)
What can I say? It defines the phrase "they don't make 'em like this anymore."
The Gay Divorcee (1934)
Fred, Ginger, great songs — and a madcap story! Pure joy!
Frankenstein (1931)
Dracula (1931)
The Mummy (1932)
Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde (1932)
Bride of Frankenstein (1935)
I love these old-style horror classics (but spare me the modern horror trash). Doesn't every child love to be make-believe scared by gruesome fairy tales? A healthy trait! These movies all have great lines, great actors, great set design and great B&W photography — if you can't enjoy these, you're dead!
Modern Movies
Modern movies are largely trash and I particularly despise the "artsy," European kind. My taste leans chiefly towards romantic comedies and humorous dramas. Thankfully, there are still enjoyable movies being made in these "old-fashioned" categories.

Splash (1984)
Romancing the Stone (1984)
Ladyhawke (1985)
