Toilers of the Sea

Commercial assignment for The Atlantean Press, 1994

This was the first all-digital book cover illustration I did. The final file was a whopping 6Mb — sizable and slow back then, when my computer was a 66MHz machine running Windows 3.1 with 32 Mb of RAM. I used CorelDraw 4 and Picture Publisher 4 for the job. Since "Toilers of the Sea" is my favorite novel by Hugo, it was a thrill to do this cover. Technically I could have done it better now, but conceptually I am still very pleased with it.
